Does quality primary healthcare have to be harder for low-income people to access than for the better off? Not if the ventures vying for our 2024 Entrepreneurs for Resilience Award – all of which use “brick-and-click” delivery models to improve healthcare access in low- and middle-income countries – have anything to do with it.
The three finalists pitched their ventures to the jury at a live hybrid event on September 4, 2024, at the end of which we announced the winner for the 8th Entrepreuners for Resilience Award and People's Choice Award Winner.
As every year, the finalists shared a grant from the Swiss Re Foundation of USD 700 000 – with the award winner ZimbosAbantu receiving USD 350 000, and finalists Cliniva and Intelehealth receiving USD 200 000 and USD 150 000 respectively. Beyond this, depending on each venture’s nature, scope and needs, non-financial contributions from Swiss Re employees and members of DCCC, such as coaching and technical advice would be offered.
